Beaches

Ribersborg, Klagshamn, Sibbarp and Västra hamnen

Ribersborgsstrand

Malmö has five popular bathing places, all located at the coast of Öresund. Two beaches have comfortable white sand, one a great green area and the other two spacious wooden decks. Common for every one of them is that the water quality is so good, that they can display Blue Flag.
The beaches are also popular walking areas all year long, especially those evenings when the sky is coloured purple red in west.

1. Scaniabadet
2. Ribersborgsstrand
3. Sibbarp
4. Klagshamn

Ribersborg Beach

Ribersborg, in popular speech called “Ribban” and in tourist brochures “Scandinavian Copacabana”, is a three kilometres long beach with both sand and big green lawns. The waters are shallow, therefore suitable for children. Here we have also Ribersborgs Kallbadhus – an open-air bath house built in 1898, a 300 m off the shore. The bath has separate departments for ladies and gentlemen, where they can swim naked.

Ribersborg beach is one of few beaches in Europe that is situated less than ten minutes by bike from the town's very centre.

Scania Bath

Two new and popular bathing places you will find in Västra Hamnen. The first is Scaniabadet - a gigantic wooden deck, 75x20 metres, with three piers; the second one is Sundspromenaden (Sound Promenade) where there are special piers for easy reach for the deep waters.

Sibbarp
Sibbarp is situated in the district called Limhamn, about 5 km from the Ribersborg. The beach is long, with splendid green areas, lots of piers, and a bay fit for the young children. Around Sibbarp you can also go wind-surfing or fishing, right next to the marina.

Klagshamn
Naturally you have magnificent view over the Öresund Bridge from every of Malmö’s beaches, but the best one is from Klagshamn, more south of the city. Also this beach has great white sand.

Sea bathing all year round
As mentioned above, you can swim in the waters of Öresund all year round in Ribersborg Kallbadhus. It is recently renovated - its two saunas have large, wide windows with a great view, which makes autumn and winter sea bathing most enjoyable. The kallbadhus´café is also a popular place for non-bathing visitors.
Also Sibbarp has a Cold Bathhouse, and also there, the view from the sauna window is astonishing.

Nude bathing
Chance to bath nude you have in the southern part of Ribersborg beach, close to the marina Lagunen at the pier No. 10.
