Malmö has extensive train-traffic, and you can reach the Malmö by X2000, Intercity trains, Öresundtågen, and Pågatågen.

X2000 is a modern high speed Tilt train that offers great comfort. It will take you from Stockholm to Malmö in only 4 ½ hours!

The Intercity trains are high standard, regular trains that run from most Swedish cities to Malmö.

Öresundtåg (The Öresund-trains) is a joint train service system for the Öresund region, i.e. southern Sweden and Denmark. It operates on the following routes:

  • Gothenburg-Halmstad-Helsingborg-Malmö-Copenhagen
  • Karlskrona-Kristianstad-Hässleholm-Malmö-Copenhagen
  • Kalmar-Växjö-Malmö-Copenhagen

Swedish discount tickets for local trafic in Scania are valid on those trains. Purchasing ticket on board costs 100 SEK extra. Note, that sometimes a route can be served also by SJ-trains, make sure you board the right train.

Pågatågen are local trains that run regularly to and from most cities and smaller towns in Skåne.
