| Malmö is hosting the EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2013. The contest will take place the 14th, 16th and 18th May 2013 in Malmö Arena, one of the most modern arenas in Europe.
Malmö is a multicultural city with residents from more than 170 countries. This was an important factor when Swedish TV made their decision if the capital Stockholm or Sweden´s third largest city Malmo would be hosting the event in 2013. Swedish TV's Director General Eva Hamilton; "It will be a party for the whole family for the whole of Europe. Multicultural Malmö is the ideal place to hold this international event".

Another vital point was the excellent communications and infrastructure. Malmö Arena has a capacity of up to 15,000 and is only 15 minutes by train from one of the largest airports in Europe, Copenhagen Airport, and 30 minutes from Malmö Airport.
Executive Producer of EUROVISION 2013 is Martin Österdahl. Malmö last hosted the Eurovision Song Contest in 1992.
And the reason that Sweden will host the 58th EUROVISION SONG CONTEST on the 14th, 16th and 18th of May is due to the artist Loreen's victory in Baku, Azerbaijan, with the song "Euphoria".
