This A-Z list takes up short facts about the most common subjects tourists usually wonder about. We try to keep this list as updated as possible, but prices may vary a bit from those mentioned.

· Airport:

Malmö Airport is situated east of Malmö, in Sturup, and serves both domestic and international destinations.
Copenhagen Airport (Kastrup), considered as the “second Malmö Airport", is only approx. 22 minutes away from the Malmö central station: you cross the Öresund Bridge by train and reach Malmö Hyllie, the first station on the Swedish side, in 12 minutes.

More information: see Arrival

· Alcohol: Alcoholic beverages and wine can only be bought in government-owned alcohol shops called Systembolaget, and you have to be 20 years old in order to shop there.
Systembolaget has over 400 shops across Sweden and offers a wide assortment. Opening hours vary, but usually it's open Monday - Friday between 10:00 and 18:00 (10 a.m.- 6 p.m.). In many cities it's open until 19:00 Thursdays. Some shops are also open on Saturdays 10:00-15:00 (10 a.m. - 3 p.m.).

· Allemansrätten: (lit. All men's right), the right to roam. The ancient Swedish general public right (and law) to freely enjoy recreation or exercise in the countryside. The law allows you to walk, cycle, horse ride, ski and camp in the countryside, except in private gardens, and immediate vicinity of a dwelling house, as well as on cultivate land. Certain times of the year both fires and dogs are also permitted. You may also visit beaches (with exception of private beaches) and swim in lakes, and put an unpowered boat on any water. However, this right comes with some obligations that can be summarized in the maxima: "Do not disturb, do not destroy". Do not damage crops, woodland or other vulnerable land. Do not disturb livestock while crossing fenced-in pastures. Picking wild flowers, berries and mushroom is allowed provided you know they are not legally protected.
The law does not apply in natural reserves, either to motor vehicles on private roads and parking lots. Fishing is permitted only in the biggest five lakes and along the coast of the Baltic Sea, Öresund, Kattegat and Skagerrak.

· Ambulance: Dial 112 (only emergency).

· Arrival: By Air: Malmö Airport is located 30 km south-east of Malmö. To get from the airport to the city takes approx. 25 min. by car and 40 min. by bus. It should be around SEK 420 from the airport. However, the price varies between different taxi companies, so ask for a fixed price beforehand.
A ticket on Flygbussarna (the Airport Buses) costs SEK 99 (for adults); the bus takes you to the city centre.

Copenhagen Airport in Denmark is also a smooth way to come to Malmö. At the airport you can take the train that goes directly over the bridge to the centre of Malmö. The trip takes 25 minutes.

By Boat: It's no longer possible to take a boat directly to Malmö. You can either take the boat from Travemünde, Germany to Trelleborg, Sweden (south of Malmö) and drive for 30 minutes on the highway to get to Malmö. Or take the boat from Helsingør, Denmark to Helsingborg, Sweden (north of Malmö) and then drive for 40 minutes to get to Malmö.

By Car: It takes 15 minutes to drive over the bridge from Copenhagen to Malmö. The toll is DKK 285 (DKK 295 from 2011; ca Euro 39-40).
